What Happens During the Implant Surgery?
The process for getting dental implants typically involves several stages and several months until completion. First, your dentist performs a dental exam to determine whether you are a good candidate for dental implants. After this evaluation is complete, imaging tests such as X-rays are taken.

Once approved for treatment, the implant is surgically placed into your jawbone and allowed to heal properly over several months before any prosthetic restoration can be made. After healing, an abutment (or connector) is placed onto the implant to hold and support the artificial crown, bridge, or full-arch denture.
