Advanced Dental Care of Palm Beach Gardens offers Laser Dentistry

The Waterlase™ is a revolutionary dental device that uses a combination of laser energy and water, a process called HydroPhotonics™, to perform many traditional dental procedures using "energized water" with less anesthesia or none at all.

Dr. Jack Rosenberg has lectured at dental school and conferences around the world on procedures using the Waterlaser dental laser. He has taught other dentists how to perform surgical procedures with immediate placement of implants making it easy and convenient for his patients. Dr. Rosenberg uses laser dental technology for kids and adults for a wide variety of dental procedures because it is his goal to preserve as much of a healthy tooth as possible and the Waterlaser technology allows a dentist to achieve such goals.   When combined with offering a less invasive, more precise form of treatment that conserves healthy tooth structure, Waterlase™ can transform your dental experience.   It reduces patient anxiety, minimizes pain and trauma, and creates a more comfortable experience for patients.

Laser Vs. Drill:

A laser removes decayed tooth structure much faster than healthy tooth structure while the drill removes everything in its path. The laser leaves stronger tooth structure whereas the drill leaves microscopic fractures in the tooth's surrounding surfaces. Preliminary evidence shows that lasers also harden the tooth surface and kill germs that cause tooth decay therefore making it more resistant to decay. It makes white fillings and sealants 'stick' more securely to the tooth so that they last longer. In most cases, no shots kidding. Multiple areas of the mouth can be worked on in one appointment. Oral surgery and gum surgery have minimal swelling, bleeding, pain and virtually no infection.

Kids leave with no numbness so there is no chance of biting their lip or tongue or cheeks. Adults can go on to meetings or to a lunch date immediately following procedures with no fear of drooling or injuring numb lips.

It is almost impossible to injure the tongue, gums, and lips or cheeks with the laser which is not the case with the drill.

With the laser, one hears a series of 'pops' or 'clicks', but no high pitched whine and absolutely no vibration as with the drill. Since it uses cool water and light energy, it leaves teeth less sensitive after a procedure. The drill creates vibration within the tooth and causes both friction and heat, resulting in a greater chance of sensitivity after procedures.

Benefits of the Waterlase Laser:

  • No shots for most restorative procedures
  • No drill - no whine and vibration
  • Minor surgery with no shots and no stitches
  • Gum disease eliminated in fewer sessions with less pain
  • Shorter chair-time in most instances
  • "Laser numbing" of teeth in cases when a drill is necessary
  • Children, phobic patients and most anyone can benefit
  • Minimally invasive procedures done in office-fewer trips to specialists' offices
  • "Laser band-aid" for ulcers and sores
  • Faster healing of aphthous ulcers "canker sores"
